Interesting, the question that i have as of now is. Are these Upgrade modules similar to have Vigors/Plasmids worked(though in this case perhaps a form of Nanities could be injected into a subject or ingested.) Or is it more along the lines of The System Shock series(Where both protagonists of both games, have various cybernitc implants, implanted into their bodies with the help of a surgical procedure.)
It also seems, that the general idea behind these Upgrade Units, doesn't guarantee safety to who ever goes through with it. Does this mean that some hostile npcs, will be delusional inividuals that really aren't human anymore, but instead they are partially machinery now. Because they kept upgrading their minds and bodies, and as a result they lost everything that they once were.
